Music School Graduation

Updated: Jun 6, 2024

In Matthew 25:14-30, we have the parable of the talents.  In the verses 14 to 19 it says:

For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. 15 And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. 16 Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. 17 And likewise he who had received two gained two more also. 18 But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord’s money. 19 After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them.”

Just as the man or the master gave talents to his servants, the same way God has given talents to all people.  And these talents are not to be hidden as did the man with one talent. But these talents and abilities are to be put to work so that they can increase and be profitable not only to the owner but also to the community around us.

At BMC Kampala we believe all the people God brings on our way have precious talents and gifts. And for these talents to be profitable there is a need for them to be identified, training to take place then put to work.

Identify talents

Before people can be trained, first there is need to identify the talents that lie inside them. Last December 24, we identified 16 children in our BMC family and made our mind to take them through a professional music training classes where we offer guitar lessons,  piano lessons and Drum lessons. It was so exciting to see how these children, both boys and girls, were so committed and creative in their ways of learning.

For a period of 6 weeks, which was during the holidays season, the 16 children enrolled and by the grace of God 12 of them completed the course. What an achievement! On their graduation day, they performed as a band and parents were so amazed as they enjoyed their presentations. I remember on this day how hard it was to contain parents as each one of them was so glued on their phones taking photos and videos. What a blessing!

For sure, nothing is impossible to those who believe!

We thank the trainers, namely Benajean M. ; Boaz M. ; Chris B. For their commitment and sacrifice. They were able to do this training on a voluntary basis not really looking at how much the should be paid but rather their joy is to help these young ones to grow in their various talents and see them useful tomorrow.

We encourage parents to bring their children and later they will be glad they did. April holidays courses are  ongoing already. The learners are expected to pay a subsidized fee to allow a smooth running of the program.  For all those interested feel free to pass by the church office for more details about the school.

What a joy to be part of what God is doing in the lives of these precious children. So parents out there! Don’t miss to enroll your child. Remember, what you sow today in the life of your child, you’ll reap it in a great way tomorrow.  So, welcome! Join BMC School of Music and allow us to join you to prepare your sons and daughters grow in their God given talents. Note: Adult music training is also available.
