Karamonjong: Go and Make Disciples

We are so grateful to God that, among the many people we have reached, the Karamojong community has been of its own.  This is a group of women and children leaving in the streets of Kampala City begging and without hope.  

God's Word

Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”

As this scripture puts it, at Bible & Mission Centre church, we are committed to reaching out to people of all walks of life and presenting them the Gospel of the Good News of God’s love and as we do so we see many people getting born again.

For sure, the Word of God is alive and it transforms lives of all those who receive it with an open heart and willing to let it do its work. John 6:63 says: “… The words I speak are Spirit and they are life.”  You cannot receive God’s word and remain the same.

Divine Appointment

For months, we tried to reach out to them but in vain because of language barriers. Thanks be to God that finally one of our evangelists was lead by the Holy Spirit to one lady who was lying down on the street with a small 3 years old girl begging. As she awoke the lady, she greeted her and she responded in English. What a miracle! Immediately she brought her and her daughter to the pastor’s office at BMC church and since then she became an interpreter for us. This is how then we were able to reach their slums and share the word of God with many of the Karamojong women.

Karamonjong Conference

In May 2023, we organized a wonderful conference for them. Over 200 women including their children attended. We had a great moment of Praise and Worship as our church band lead us. You could see the joy allover their faces, as almost all of them had never been in such an atmosphere.   The word of God was shared with a minister from Charis Bible College (Kampala campus). Salvation, healings, deliverance and much more took place. At the end of the day, 30 women got born again. What a joy!  Food and clothes were given to them and much love shown them made them to feel home.

After the conference we continued to reach out to them in their slum, more continued to get born again and finally we baptized 12 of them in much water.
