Touch A Life: Restore Hope, Change Destiny

Matthew 25: 24 – 40 “Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me”.

This is the heart behind BMC Touch A Life Project.  “Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me”. Jesus said.

Jesus makes it clear here that these ones suffering are His brethren and anyone who attends to them, who cares for them, who helps them does it not only to them but to Him too. And so this is why as BMC Church we are committed to seeing that we restore hope and change the destiny of an individual one at a time.

At present our Touch A life has been making a difference in the Karamojong community  of those who left their Karamoja area to come to Kampala looking for a better life only to find themselves on streets begging.

We started this project by reaching to them giving them clothing and sharing the word of God with them. Within 2 months we succeeded to bring over 200 of them, women and their children, to BMC church where we had a whole day sharing the word of God’s love toward them, praying for them, sharing a meal with them and distributing clothes to them. What a day it was. Over 30 gave their lives to Christ that day and later on we baptized 11 of them in much water. Today some of them have found hope back and are growing in the faith of Jesus Christ.

What We Do

We reach them by meeting their needs. (Clothing, food)

We conduct Medical Camps to ensure good health

We share God’s word with them which is our main aim.

We desire to train them in various skills ( Tailoring, Music, Bakery, Hair dressing, entrepreneurship, etc.)

One of the biggest challenge is finding a way to house them so they can be able to change their style of life, as they follow the teaching.

Those whom we have already helped find themselves in the same traps and this makes transformation slow.

We welcome you to join us in this noble task of touching a life by restoring hope and change a destiny one at a time with your support.

Thank you: BMC team with volunteers from Charis Bible college, Kampala
